Righting what you say. And not what you think.
Story openings are pretty hard to come by. But I've found that I don't get very far from the opening. Now I need to get to the middle. I just bought Beginnings, Middles and Ends, by Nancy Kress this is the second time I've bought this book.
I'm Trying to develop the skill of writing out of habit and not just when I'm inspired by the music of this life. So here's to writing.

Opening Your Parable
I was studying with a famous author by buying one of his courses online. He said open with conflict. So I thought of some opening biblical conflicts that would start my short or long story out. This also can be a demonstration of how one can take up where a story leaves off and turn the true parable to make a new fictional one.Key: the minus sign - means a negative or sad viewpoint. the plus sign + means positive or happy viewpoint -+ means both.
From the story of Queen Esther.
-What if Haman wasn't judged and executed.
+- What if Queen Vashti did not refuse King Ahasuerus. What would have become of Queen Esther?
The Lives of the 12 Apostles of Jesus
- What if Peter sunk then what would have happened to his mother in law.

Mashing Up a Story
Well. This blog is about creating new stories from old ones. Jesus one of my favorite Teachers, (One among three), used parables to work Truth into the hearts of humankind. So this is my attempt to do just that.
- Principle one: I don't like to outline stories. Translation: Don't write outlines? Then don't.
- Principle two: I just write on the fly and try to outline later. Translation: Write on the fly and outline later.
- Principle three: I was told and I know that If one does not care about the character no one cares about what happens to them.
- Principle four: Find the gaps in true stories and fill in the blanks with personal details that are true in part to your life.
- Principle five: Disguise the details by symbolizing them. Title: Overt and Covert or outside details and inside details.
- Principle six: Only you and that person need to know its them, if it (the details) start out negative.
- Principle seven: Use real bios of people who have gone on. And try to fill in details with older stories.
- Principle eight: Finding the common thread of humankind in a story. I'm still looking...
